THE BIRTH
In Milan, in 2023, the ethical and sustainable fashion brand PRISM was founded byGiovanni Lucchesi.
However, the story that led to the birth of the brand had begun much earlier, when Giovanni, a recent graduate in Political Science, decided to get involved personally in the social field and in supporting the most needy. During the years following the degree, Giovanni was involved in numerous projects civil volunteering around the world, from China to Africa, experiencing first-hand the suffering and needs of those who live in highly marginalized conditions.
Strengthened by his experiences, once he returned to Italy, Giovanni decided to start a social support project aimed at most needy groups of society, first and foremost women and migrants. However, with his life experiences, he was well aware that simply offering temporary help to these people was not enough:
"Offering simple economic support is not a sustainable solution, because once this support disappears, the person in need will find themselves back in the starting conditions. What needs to be done is to provide the person with the knowledge and means to become independent and able to support themselves in the long term."
To achieve this aim, Giovanni decided to base his project by valorising one of the greatest excellences of our country, yet also one with more complex facets and problems: the sustainable fashion.

Nowadays the fashion industry is the second largest cause of global pollution, and one of the sectors in which workers are often exploited and underpaid without any protection being guaranteed to them, in the name of a profit that has its roots in mass consumerism.
We oppose this system from both a moral and practical point of view.
After great efforts and an ever-increasing commitment, it was born in 2023 in Milan PRISM: Italian ethical brand, the fruit of the aspiration to combine the two worlds of fashion and sustainability. The Milan office is not only practical but also symbolic, the capital of Italian fashion and the center of Italian excellence in the world.
Combiningfashion Andsustainability in every respect, both social and environmental, all our creations are ethically produced insocial tailors within which we find teams made up of people with extremely different and varied nationalities, life paths, work experiences and family situations. Every garment we produce is taken care of down to the smallest detail with great attention and professionalism, enhancing and transmitting sartorial knowledge of ancient origins, but which always knows how to renew itself to offer the best ofquality to our customers.
Our production is based on the principles ofCircular Economy and on dynamics ofrecycling Andupcycling, where unused leftover fabrics are given new life through a production process that reduces any type of waste and waste to a minimum.
